Biography

Rahul Jain is a Professor in the Thomas Lord Department of Computer Science at the University of Southern California. He holds the Kenneth C. Dahlberg Early Career Chair and has a rich educational background with a Doctoral Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and Master's Degrees in Statistics from UC Berkeley and in Electrical Engineering from Rice University. He has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Prior to joining USC in February 2013, he worked at the Mathematical Sciences Division of IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. His research interests are focused on AI Stochastic Systems, Online Statistical Reinforcement Learning, and applications in autonomous robotics, intelligent transportation, and smart power systems. He has served as an Associate Editor for several IEEE journals and has been involved in various committees and editorial boards. Over the years, he has received numerous accolades including the NSF CAREER Award, IBM Faculty Award, and the James H. Zumberge Faculty Research Innovation Award. He has actively contributed to the academic community through mentorship and has led many of his students to prestigious positions in top-tier universities.
