Biography

Rahul Kapoor is the David W. Hauck Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also chairs the Management Department. His research focuses on management innovation and business ecosystems related to new technologies and business models, and he has published numerous articles in leading peer-reviewed and practitioner journals. Kapoor has previously served as Chair of the Technology Innovation Management Division of the Academy of Management and is an Associate Editor for the Strategic Management Journal and a Contributing Editor for Strategy Science. In addition to his research, Kapoor teaches undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, and PhD courses on technology innovation strategy at Wharton. He has received several awards for research and teaching excellence, including the Academy of Management’s Emerging Scholar Award and the Wharton Teaching Excellence Award. Prior to his academic career, he worked in the high-tech industry, including positions at Texas Instruments and various startups. His recent research includes studies on the challenges of sustaining successful enterprises and the dynamics of innovation ecosystems in the context of established organizations and startups.
