Rahul G. Krishnan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Toronto. He holds the CIFAR AI Chair and is a Tier II Canada Research Chair in Computational Medicine. His research direction involves collecting data from natural phenomena to characterize computation occurring in complex processes governed by known and unknown laws. His group advances fundamental research in machine learning to understand, identify, and create controllable and reliable artificial intelligence systems. Currently, he is focused on building neural network models to reason causally and using them to solve problems in healthcare and biology. His lab has nurtured several PhD and MSc students, many of whom have gone on to prestigious programs and roles in industry.
