Biography

Rahul’s research interests include human stem cells, skeletal development, and primarily cartilage tissue engineering. He has successfully supervised the completion of 15 PhD students and has over 50 peer-reviewed original research articles, reviews, and book chapters with more than 4000 citations. Rahul teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, serving as a Personal Academic Tutor and Lead Scientific Review for MMedSc Advanced Scientific Skills (MSc Biomedical Sciences Research) modules at the University of Southampton. His research seeks to gain insights into the pathogenesis of debilitating skeletal diseases like osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, elucidating mechanisms that regulate skeletal development.
