Raissa Douglas Ferron joined the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in January 2009. Her research group focuses on studying infrastructure materials and cementitious engineering materials. Ferron’s expertise includes smart concrete, rheology, and processing of fresh state micro/nano-structural characterization of cement-based materials. She serves as the secretary for ACI Committee 552: Cementitious Grouting and ACI Committee 552-TG1: Additive Manufacturing. Additionally, she is a member of various technical committees, including ASTM International Committee C09: Concrete and Concrete Aggregates, and the Transportation Research Board Committee AFN40: Concrete Materials Placement Techniques. Ferron is the recipient of several awards, including the 2010 American Society of Civil Engineers New Faces award and the 2016 Louisiana-Texas Region Top 40 under 40 Award. In 2017, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and received the Young Member Professional Achievement Award from ACI in 2018.
