Raissa Douglas Ferron joined the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in January 2009. Her research group focuses on studying infrastructure materials and cementitious engineering materials. Ferron’s expertise lies in smart concrete, rheology, and the processing of fresh state micro/nano-structural characterization of cement-based materials. She serves as secretary for several ACI committees focused on Cementitious Grouting and Additive Manufacturing. Ferron is also involved with various technical committees including those under ASTM International and the Transportation Research Board. She has received multiple accolades including the 2010 American Society of Civil Engineers New Faces award and the 2016 Louisiana-Texas Region Top 40 Under 40 Award, acknowledging outstanding professionals in construction and design. In 2017, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute and received the ACI Young Member Professional Achievement Award in 2018.
