Biography

Raj Duggavathi obtained his Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) in 1997 and Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) in 1999 from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, and completed his PhD in reproductive physiology in 2004 from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon. He joined the Department of Animal Science at McGill University in 2008 and has served as the Department Chair since 2018. His research program investigates the regulation of ovarian functions and female fertility using bovine and mouse models, with a focus on the metabolic regulation of ovarian function in cattle and the fundamental mechanisms involved that are applicable across species. He teaches courses including Endocrinology and Advanced Reproduction. His recent work examines the impact of metabolic stress and ketosis on ovarian activity and the role of signaling pathways in bovine reproductive physiology.
