Dr. Rajan Shankaran

Biography

Rajan Shankaran holds an M.B.A. in Management Information Systems and a Ph.D. in Network Communications Security from the University of Western Sydney. He is currently a Senior Lecturer and Course Director at the School of Computing, Macquarie University, overseeing postgraduate programs focused on Networking and the Internet of Things. As a faculty-nominated member of the University Academic Senate Curriculum Subcommittee, he is responsible for curriculum development and ensuring academic quality across programs. In addition, Rajan represents the School on the Faculty Board of Science and Engineering, overseeing academic matters. He is also the acting Chair of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society New South Wales Chapter, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field. His primary research interests include Network on Chip, Device-to-Device communications, medical implant security, network security, and mobile computing. Rajan has actively contributed to conferences in computer networking security, serving on program committees for notable events such as WMNC and WCNC, and has played a key role in organizing IEEE/IFIP events.
