Dr. Rajesh Ranganath

Biography

Rajesh Ranganath is an Assistant Professor at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University, specializing in the fields of Computer Science and Data Science. His research interests are focused on causal inference, statistical methods, probabilistic inference, out-of-distribution detection, generalization, deep generative modeling, interpretability, and machine learning applications in healthcare. Prior to joining NYU, he completed his PhD at Princeton University under the guidance of Dave Blei, having previously earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University. Additionally, Rajesh has spent time as a research affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Institute of Medical Engineering and Science, contributing to diverse projects and collaborations. He is actively involved in mentoring PhD students in his lab, fostering a new generation of researchers in these critical areas of study.
