Biography

Rakesh D. Mistry, MD, MS, is a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine and the Section Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Previously, he held a similar position at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and worked as an attending physician at Children’s Hospital Colorado. His research focuses on infectious diseases in the emergency department, particularly on implementing antimicrobial stewardship programs using clinical decision support systems. He has obtained funding from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to support his research. Dr. Mistry has authored or co-authored 130 original research articles and has peer-reviewed for 20 journals. He is also active in multicenter research, serving as the Past-Chair of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Collaborative Research Committee and a Site Primary Investigator for a federally funded Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network study. Dr. Mistry has a personal interest in cycling, hiking, and following Rutgers sports, alongside spending time with his wife and son.
