Biography

Ralf Hand is a Postdoctoral researcher in the field of Climatology at the University of Bern's Institute of Geography. His research focuses on understanding decadal climate variability through ensemble atmosphere model simulations over the past 600 years. He has authored and co-authored several publications in high-impact journals, contributing significantly to the field of climate dynamics. His notable works examine the interactions between oceanic and atmospheric forces and their implications for Atlantic multidecadal variability, local sea surface temperature patterns, and the Gulf Stream region's climate response. Ralf holds a PhD from Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, where he also completed his diploma thesis on ocean-atmosphere interactions.
