Dr. Ralf Möller

Biography

Ralf Möller is an esteemed professor specializing in Artificial Intelligence Humanities. With a robust academic journey spanning over two decades, he has contributed notably as the Director of the Centre for Humanities-Centered AI (CHAI) at the University of Hamburg. He holds an impressive academic pedigree, having earned a Diplom in Computer Science in 1990, followed by a Dr. rer. nat. in 1996, and a Habilitation in 2001 from the University of Hamburg. He served in various significant roles including a professorship in Distributed Intelligent Systems at the Wedel University of Applied Sciences and professor of data-intensive software systems at the Technical University of Hamburg. His expertise extends to multiple areas including causal, dynamic and probabilistic-relational foundational models, multimodal foundational models, and information systems for training foundational models. Professor Möller has also taken on leadership roles in various research groups, including the Research Unit on 'Data Linking' within the Excellence Cluster 'Understanding Written Artefacts' at the University of Hamburg. He remains actively involved in the development of academic programs, particularly in areas blending artificial intelligence with humanities.
