Biography

Ralf Paschke is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Calgary, specializing in Endocrinology and Molecular Biology. He has previously served as the Division Head of Endocrinology at the University of Calgary, and was also the Zone Head of Endocrinology in Calgary from 2015 to 2019. In November 2015, he was elected chair of the provincial endocrine tumor team in Alberta. With training in Pathology, Internal Medicine, and Endocrinology from several prestigious university hospitals in Germany and the United States, he has authored over 350 original journal articles and has held significant editorial positions in journals such as Thyroid and JCEM. His recent work in Calgary focuses on implementing guidelines for thyroid nodule ultrasound malignancy risk assessment and he has been involved in developing Alberta-specific protocols for managing indeterminate thyroid nodules. Moreover, he collaborates with the European Thyroid Association on revising thyroid nodule guidelines.
