Dr. Raman Arora

Biography

Raman Arora is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University, affiliated with the Center for Language and Speech Processing and the Institute for Data-Intensive Engineering and Science. He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, he served as a research assistant professor and postdoctoral scholar at the Toyota Technological Institute in Chicago. He also held positions as a visiting researcher at Microsoft Research in Redmond, Washington, and as a research associate at the University of Washington in Seattle. His research interests focus on advancing methodologies in Machine Learning, Statistical Signal Processing, and Stochastic Approximation Algorithms, with applications in Speech and Language Processing. He is involved in various academic initiatives, including presentations at notable conferences such as NeurIPS, highlighting his contributions to the fields of artificial intelligence and computational neuroscience.
