Ramesh Govindan is the Northrop Grumman Chair and a Professor at the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California. He received his B.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Before joining USC, he was a member of the technical staff at Bell Communications Research and a project leader at USC's Information Sciences Institute and the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley. His research focuses on scalable and robust routing infrastructures for large networks such as the Internet, as well as structural properties of the Internet and programming architectures for wireless and mobile networks. He has been recognized as a Fellow of the ACM and IEEE, served as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, and received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
