Biography

Ramesh Govindan is the Northrop Grumman Chair and a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC). He received his B.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras, and both his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining USC, he was a member of the technical staff at Bell Communications Research and served as a project leader at USC's Information Sciences Institute and the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley. His research primarily focuses on scalable and robust routing infrastructures for large networks, including the Internet, examining structural properties of the Internet, programming architectures, and systems for wireless mobile networks. Ramesh Govindan is a Fellow of the ACM and IEEE, and has served as the Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing. He has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
