Biography

Ramesh Manjappa is an Assistant Professor at the College of Community and Global Health, University of Manitoba. He has extensive experience leading maternal and newborn health projects in India, especially in Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh from 2011 to 2015. Prior to this, he monitored and evaluated HIV intervention projects in India from 2003 until 2010. His career began at the International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai, where he served from 1986 to 1996 and held the position of Director at the Population Research Centre in Dharwad, India from 1997 to 2003. His current research includes a systematic study on factors related to the reduction of maternal and neonatal mortality in India and leading a project focusing on HIV prevention product delivery ecosystems in Kenya. He is involved in implementing maternal and child health services in Uttar Pradesh and actively accepts graduate students in his research themes.
