Biography

Rami Al-Sharif is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, where he earned his PhD unconditionally in Management. He completed his MBA with Distinction in International Human Resource Management at Coventry University. Before becoming an academic, Rami spent four years in the banking sector and delivered consultancy work for a not-for-profit organization in London. His research interests include organizational trust, perceived fairness, identity threat, stereotype threat, and their implications for young people's experiences with work and crime. He focuses on the role of Human Resource Management (HRM) policies and processes in creating a trustworthy, fair, and safe work environment for stigmatized groups. Rami is particularly passionate about issues related to refugee integration into the UK labor market and aims to incorporate his research findings into practical work with policymakers and practitioners. He utilizes mixed-methods research, having extensive experience with both quantitative and qualitative research tools such as SPSS, Structural Equation Modelling, and Nvivo. Rami is also a member of the International Network on Trust and the European Network of Selection Researchers, and he regularly engages with both academics and practitioners through invited presentations and guest speaking.
