Biography

Ramiro Maldonado specializes in pediatric retinal diseases, pediatric adult ophthalmic genetics, and inherited retinal diseases. He completed his fellowship in pediatric retinal imaging at Duke Ophthalmology and has also completed fellowships in ophthalmic genetics and electrophysiology at the National Institutes of Health (NIH-NEI). Prior to joining Duke, he served as the Director and Founder of the Ophthalmic Genetics Electrophysiology Service at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. In his current role at Duke, he provides pediatric medical retina services, as well as care for pediatric and adult inherited retinal diseases.
