Biography

Ramiro Serra is an associate professor in the Electrical Energy Systems Group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Netherlands. His research interests include electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), statistical electromagnetics, and studies of wireless coexistence and interference. He possesses extensive expertise in the design, modeling, construction, characterization, and calibration of electromagnetic mode-stirred reverberation chambers. His research lines encompass modeling noise propagation in integrated circuit substrates and addressing EMC aspects of large infrastructures. Ramiro is a passionate educator who believes in broadening education to prevent nearsightedness in specialized studies, citing the view of philosopher J.H. Newman. He holds an MSc degree in electronic engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires, Argentina, obtained in 2000, followed by a post-master degree in technological applications of nuclear energy from the Instituto Balseiro in Bariloche, Argentina, in 2004. In 2009, he earned his PhD in electronics and communications engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy. Dr. Serra actively serves on various international committees, including the International Steering Committee for the International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC Europe) and holds multiple positions within the International Union of Radio Science (URSI).
