Biography

Ramit Debnath is a University Assistant Professor and Deputy Director of the Centre for Human-Inspired AI (CHIA). He leads the Cambridge Collective Intelligence Design Group and the climaTRACES Lab at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on designing responsible human-centric AI systems that advance climate action and environmental sustainability. He has a background in electrical engineering and computational social sciences, having completed his MPhil and PhD at the University of Cambridge as a Gates Scholar. Ramit has been awarded the inaugural Cambridge Zero Fellowship and serves as an Associate Editor for several journals, including npj Climate Action and Humanities and Social Science Communications. His research outputs feature prominently in publications such as Nature and Climate Change. Additionally, he is involved in teaching various modules in the Design Tripos and Human-Centered AI programs.
