Biography

Ramon Luengo-Fernandez is an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford in the Medical Sciences Division. He joined the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) as a Senior Health Economist in October 2023, having previously worked at the Health Economics Research Centre (HERC) at the same university. His research focuses on conducting economic evaluations and health economic analyses related to maternal and child health. Ramon has extensive experience in using experimental and observational data, evidence synthesis, and decision analytic models to inform cost-effectiveness evaluations. His work includes studies estimating long-term healthcare costs and outcomes for various diseases, notably stroke. He is also actively involved in teaching and has postgraduate supervision experience, serving on National Institute for Health Research panels. Ramon divides his time between the NPEU and the Wolfson Centre for Prevention of Stroke and Dementia within the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford.
