Dr. Ramsey Cutress

Biography

Ramsey Cutress is a Professor of Breast Surgery at the University of Southampton and a Consultant Surgeon at University Hospital Southampton. His clinical research interests encompass the investigation of patient-host determinants that influence breast cancer outcomes, including genetic predisposition, immunological responses, and nutritional and lifestyle factors. Professor Cutress is actively involved in national research studies and clinical trials, particularly focusing on neo-adjuvant endocrine therapy for breast cancer in young women. He is a member of the POSH study research team, contributing to critical ongoing research in this area. Additionally, Ramsey serves as a topic advisor for NICE on the Early Locally Advanced Breast Cancer Guideline and is part of the writing group for the ABS and BAPRAS Oncoplastic Breast Reconstruction Guidelines. His leadership extends to being the co-director of the Association of Breast Surgery (ABS) Advanced Skills Breast Disease Management Course, and he serves as a sub-specialty editor for the Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, as well as being a member of the CPS committee of ABS.
