Dr. Ramy Gohary

Biography

Ramy H. Gohary is an Associate Professor in the School of Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton University. He holds a Ph.D. from McMaster University and specializes in systems engineering and computer applications. His teaching and research strongly focus on machine-to-machine communications, the Internet-of-Things, and analysis and design of wireless communication systems, including MIMO wireless communication. Prof. Gohary is also known for his work in convex optimization, differential geometry, signal processing, and information-theoretic aspects of communication systems. He has delved into multiuser communication and cooperative communications as part of his research agenda. His contributions extend to number-theoretic applications in communications, fairness in cross-layered designs, and distributed antenna systems, as well as iterative detection and decoding techniques for multiuser systems. Gohary's academic activities include instruction in advanced topics related to communication systems and consulting on industry projects that leverage his expertise.
