Biography

Rand Siekert is an accomplished professional in the field of optometry with a dedicated career spanning over two decades. He joined Tucson Eye Care in January 2020 after serving as an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona for 23 ½ years. His responsibilities included patient care, resident teaching, and research in various ocular conditions such as diabetes, cataracts, and glaucoma. Previously, he was clinical faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco from 1991 to 1996. Siekert obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree, as well as a bachelor's degree in Vision Science, from the University of California, Berkeley. He is actively involved in professional associations, having served on the board and as past president of the Arizona Optometric Association, as well as being a board member and president of the Regional-Great Western Council of Optometry. In his personal time, he enjoys running with his wife Linda and their Basenji dogs, participating in competitive agility, and exploring the great outdoors through camping and hiking in national and state parks.
