Dr. Randal Zhou

Biography

Randal Zhou, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery specializing in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Yale School of Medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010, followed by his medical degree from Rush Medical College in 2014. Dr. Zhou underwent residency training at Rush University/John Stroger Hospital and completed his fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital in 2020. His clinical expertise focuses on robotic and laparoscopic surgical techniques, treating conditions such as obesity, hernias, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). He is a member of professional organizations, including the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Zhou is committed to improving patient outcomes and emphasizes the importance of patient-centered care in his practice, reassuring patients by prioritizing their interests and treating them as family.
