Biography

Clinical Associate Professor Randy Deutsch, FAIA, LEED AP, teaches various design courses at the School of Architecture. As a licensed architect, he has been responsible for the design of over 100 large-scale, complex sustainable projects. His work has been featured in Architectural Record, Architect Magazine, and DesignIntelligence. Deutsch served on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Architectural Club and was a Vice President of AIA Chicago. He has also been a jury member for ARCHITECT Magazine's R+D awards and was the inaugural NCARB Professional Practice Scholar. He led an annual Executive Education program at Harvard Graduate School of Design and is recognized as a thought leader in the field of architectural practice, frequently presenting as a keynote speaker internationally. Randy received the AIA Young Architect Award in Chicago and was appointed Associate Director of Graduate Studies at the School of Architecture from 2016 to 2019. He has published six books on design technology and methodologies, including 'Data Driven Design and Construction: Strategies for Capturing, Analyzing and Applying Building Data' and 'Think Like An Architect: How to Develop Critical, Creative and Collaborative Problem-Solving Skills.'
