Biography

Rania Ghosn is an Associate Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she serves as the Director of the SMArchS Urbanism program and is the founding principal of DESIGN EARTH. Her work critically engages with the public climate crisis by charting technological systems that have transformed the Earth and reimagining ways of living in relation to the geographies of a damaged planet. Ghosn's work has been exhibited internationally, including prestigious venues such as the Venice Biennale and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. She is a co-author of several influential publications, including 'Geostories: Architecture Environment' and 'Climate Inheritance,' and has published numerous articles in prominent architectural journals. As a founding editor of the journal New Geographies, she has contributed significantly to discussions surrounding urbanism and architecture. Ghosn has received multiple awards for her contributions to the field, including the United States Artist Fellowship and the Architectural League Prize for Young Architects + Designers. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Architecture from the American University of Beirut, a Master of Geography from University College London, and a Doctorate in Design from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
