Dr. Raphaël Parchet

Biography

Raphaël Parchet is a Full Professor at the Institute of Economics at the Università della Svizzera italiana. His academic journey began with a PhD in Economics from the University of Lausanne in 2012, following a Master of Science in Economics in 2007 and another Master's degree in Political Science in 2003, also from the University of Lausanne. He joined USI in 2013 as an Assistant Professor after completing his postdoctoral research at both the University of Basel and the University of Lausanne. His research interests center on taxation, fiscal competition, and the interaction between economic policy and political institutions. He also serves as the Director of the Bachelor in Economics program since 2023 and focuses on areas such as fiscal federalism, income inequalities, public economics, regional economics, and tax competition. His work is instrumental in understanding how economic policies intersect with political frameworks.
