Biography

Raphael Sznitman graduated from the University of British Columbia (Canada) in 2007 with a degree in cognitive systems. He obtained his PhD in computer science from Johns Hopkins University (USA) in 2011. Following his doctoral studies, he was a postdoctoral fellow at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland) where he contributed to the computer vision laboratory. In 2015, he joined the faculty of the ARTORG Center at the University of Bern (Switzerland) as a full professor. He currently serves as the director of the ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering. His research interests lie primarily in the areas of computational vision, probabilistic methods, statistical learning, and their applications in medical imaging. He is also involved in teaching various courses in the Biomedical Engineering Master's program.
