Biography

Rapolas is a Research Assistant in the Audio Experience Design team at Imperial College London, led by Professor Lorenzo Picinali. He is currently waiting to defend his PhD thesis, which focuses on an auditory model-based similarity metric for head-related transfer functions (HRTFs). His research includes assessing perceptual differences in HRTFs and evaluating the relevance of binaural spatial audio personalization in extended reality scenarios. He has collaborated with team members on the EU-funded SONICOM project aimed at improving immersive audio experiences in extended reality applications. He also helped organize the inaugural Listener Acoustic Personalisation (LAP) Challenge, providing a platform to benchmark state-of-the-art HRTF personalization research.
