Dr. Raquel Salvatella De Prada

Biography

Raquel Salvatella de Prada is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Art, History & Visual Studies at Duke University. Her academic and creative pursuits involve a multidisciplinary approach that intersects commercial video art, kinetic typography, graphic design, and performance. Raquel is particularly interested in integrating computer animation and motion design with traditional art forms, collaborating with artists from diverse backgrounds, and exploring media such as printmaking, painting, installation art, poetry, puppetry, theater, and musical performance. Her recent artistic works include notable installations such as 'Spectral Seas' and 'LANDeSCAPES', which engage with contemporary social issues, including the storytelling of climate change and the experiences of African migrants. She has been a part of various exhibitions and continues to contribute to the academic community through her role as the Director of Undergraduate Studies in her department.
