Dr. Rasha Baruni

Biography

Rasha Baruni has 15 years of experience providing behavior analytic services to young children and adolescents with developmental disabilities in homes, schools, and clinics across Canada, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates. She has published several peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters. Her primary research interests include safety skills training programs, assessments, and treatments for maladaptive behaviors in children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. Specific areas of interest include conjugate lag schedules, reinforcement, and understanding safety threats, especially in the context of digital environments. Dr. Baruni is keen on evaluating active learning approaches, such as behavioral skills training (BST) and situational training, to better prepare children to respond appropriately to various safety threats. Moreover, she aims to make safety skills training programs accessible to parents, educators, and stakeholders, and is also focused on BST applications in staff training and performance management contexts.
