Dr. Ratana Chuenpagdee

Biography

Ratana Chuenpagdee is a Professor in the Department of Geography at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She holds a B.Sc. in Marine Science and two M.Sc. degrees in Fisheries Management Economics and Fisheries Biology, as well as a Ph.D. in Resource Management and Environmental Studies from the University of British Columbia. Her research primarily focuses on sustainable communities and regions, globalization, economy and resources, as well as health and well-being. Chuenpagdee has received funding for various projects aimed at enhancing small-scale fisheries and governance related to ocean conservation. She is active in transdisciplinary capacity building and has contributed to numerous publications in marine policy and governance, highlighting the importance of sustainable development in fisheries management. Additionally, she has edited several books on small-scale fisheries governance, showcasing her commitment to transdisciplinary approaches in environmental studies.
