Biography

Ravi Majeti is the Virginia D.K. Ludwig Professor in the Department of Medicine (Hematology) and Director of the Stanford Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree and Ph.D. from the University of California, San Francisco, and completed his internal medicine training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Majeti is a board-certified hematologist and has undergone post-doctoral training in the laboratory of Irving Weissman at Stanford University, focusing on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) stem cells. He leads an NIH-funded laboratory that investigates the molecular characteristics and therapeutic targeting of leukemia stem cells related to human hematologic disorders, particularly AML, and has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Majeti has received several prestigious awards, including the Burroughs Wellcome Career Award for Medical Scientists and the New York Stem Cell Foundation Robertson Investigator Award. He is an active member of the American Association for Cancer Research and serves on the editorial board of Blood Cancer Discovery.
