Ravi Prakash received his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Biomedical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2008, followed by an M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2010 and a Ph.D. in 2013 from the University of Calgary, Canada. Since joining Carleton University in 2018 as an Associate Professor, he has made significant contributions in the fields of Lab-on-Chip micro-devices, biosensors for point-of-care diagnostics, and soft-wearable systems for continuous, non-invasive health monitoring. He oversees the Organic Sensor Devices Laboratory (OSDL), focusing on organic chemical and biological sensors and flexible electronic components for human-device interfacing and environmental monitoring applications. Prakash has published over 40 peer-reviewed publications, including 21 journal articles and has been granted 3 patents. His research interests extend to organic semiconductor materials and the development of low-cost, flexible printed microelectronic systems. Engaged with industry and academic partners, he actively promotes collaboration and innovation in sensor technologies and wearable health monitoring solutions.
