Biography

Ravi Subramanian is a Professor of Operations Management at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Tech. He served as the Faculty Director of Georgia Tech's interdisciplinary Denning Technology Management Program from 2013 to 2016. His research focuses on the interfaces of environmental and social sustainability with operations and supply chain management, drawing from various fields including public policy, industrial ecology, strategy, organizational behavior, and marketing. His work has been published in prominent journals such as the Journal of Industrial Ecology and the Journal of Operations Management, and his research themes include environmental sustainability in supply chains, corporate sustainability effectiveness, and transparency in disclosure. Subramanian received the inaugural Paul Kleindorfer Award for Sustainability in 2012, which honors distinguished research related to sustainable operations and environmental impact. In addition, he has received multiple teaching awards for excellence from the Scheller College and is also an experienced educator in core operations and supply chain management as well as data analytics courses. He has collaborated on research projects funded by the National Science Foundation and has extensive industry experience in operations strategy and manufacturing.
