Biography

Based at Carnegie Mellon University's Silicon Valley campus, Ravi specializes in teaching entrepreneurial new venture coursework for the M.S. in Software Management and M.S. in Technology Ventures programs. Ravi held senior-level executive positions at startups and co-founded Jareva Technologies, serving as CFO and board member. During his time at Jareva, Ravi engaged in various aspects of company founding, service business, and repositioning the software product company, culminating in a successful exit through acquisition by Veritas. Prior to founding Jareva, he was CFO at PostX, a company in the secure messaging sector, where he was involved in raising $30 million from venture capitalist firms including Mayfield, Hummer Winblad, and Labrador. Additionally, Ravi has consulted as Chief Financial Officer for startups. He previously served as CFO for University Associates, LLC, which was formed by the Regents of the University of California and the FHDA Community Colleges, holding a master lease on 77 acres at NASA Research Park in Moffett Field. Before joining the startup world, Ravi was an Assistant Professor at the Fox School of Business at Temple University, where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in microeconomics, economics of information, and public finance. He also taught as a Visiting Fellow at Swarthmore College with the International Monetary Fund.
