Biography

Ravinder Kingra is a lecturer in Food Beverage Management at Cornell University's Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration. Prior to joining Cornell's faculty, Kingra worked in Maine managing special events, catering, and involved in restaurant marketing and branding. With 25 years of experience in food-service operations, he has worked in both corporate and independently owned full-service and quick-service operations. This diverse background provides inspiration for his teaching. In addition, Kingra is a member of the Nolan School's Academic Integrity Hearing Board (AIHB) and serves as a faculty advisor for the school's Epicurean Society. He has co-authored an article in the Cornell Hospitality Quarterly that examined pre-opening training in hotels and restaurants. Kingra has also consulted for Gimme! Coffee and Dinosaur BBQ, as well as various independent restaurants in New England. In the fall of 2014, he was invited to deliver a presentation on technology in marketing for restaurants at the Costa Rican National Restaurant Congress held in San Jose, Costa Rica.
