Biography

Ray Loveridge is an expert in the structure and strategy of transnational corporations, focusing on the political and technological development within emerging economies and the future of knowledge occupations in a global context. His career has traversed aviation engineering, local government, and academia, having started his academic journey in the 1960s. Ray served as a lecturer at the London School of Economics and the London Business School before joining Aston University. In 1998, he became a Leverhulme Research Fellow at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. His research has addressed various issues, including the emergence of family-controlled firms and new forms of corporate social responsibility (CSR), as well as the technology transfer practices of European multinationals in Asia and human resources management within multinational enterprises. He has also explored the future role of professional associations in the global economy. In addition to his research work, Ray is a Permanent Senior Common Room Member and a Supernumerary Lecturer at Brasenose College, Oxford. He holds the title of Professor Emeritus from Aston University and has held visiting professorships at Doshisha University in Kyoto, the British University in Egypt, and the Beijing Institute of Technology. Ray holds a DLitt from Cambridge University and multiple degrees in economics and industrial relations.
