Biography

Dr. Taheri received his PhD degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in 2002. From 2003 to 2006, he worked in the industry while conducting research as a Post Doctoral Fellow at IPSCO, Canada. He is currently a Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. His research interests focus on the evaluation of microstructural, physical, mechanical, and electrochemical properties of Electroless Nickel-Phosphorus coatings. Dr. Taheri's research also involves the selection of materials for use in potash brine environments and the performance of stainless steels, ceramics, coatings, and titanium high nickel-chromium alloys under severe corrosion and wear conditions. He employs various analytical techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) for his investigations. Dr. Taheri has published several papers in reputable journals and has presented his work at international conferences, highlighting his contributions to the field of materials science and engineering.
