Dr. Raymond Krizek

Biography

Raymond J. Krizek is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northwestern University. He has made significant contributions to the field of civil engineering, focusing particularly on the mechanical properties of grouted sands and the engineering behavior of dredged materials. His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University, respectively. Throughout his career, he has been involved in various projects and programs, notably as part of the Master of Project Management Program and the Executive Management for Design and Construction Program. His work on the disposal of waste slurries highlights his expertise in managing complex environmental challenges. He has published several papers on relevant topics, including the flocculation and sedimentation of fresh water dredged material slurries, and has conducted seismic analyses of earth dams based on endochronic theory.
