Dr. Rebeca Gonzalez Suarez

Biography

Rebeca Gonzalez Suarez is an Associate Professor at Uppsala University within the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Her research focuses on High Energy Physics, particularly the ATLAS collaboration at CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC). With a strong background in Higgs boson physics, she has led significant studies on Higgs boson WW decays and was a subgroup convener for Higgs physics at CMS. She began her studies on the top quark in 2011 and has worked as the single top subgroup convener at CMS, achieving pivotal observations in the field. Beyond her research, Rebeca has over a decade of public engagement experience and has served as the Outreach & Education coordinator for the ATLAS collaboration. Her ongoing projects include the Hardware Track Trigger project for the Phase-II Upgrade and searching the dark sector in high-energy physics while developing machine learning techniques. She has contributed to numerous papers in high energy physics and has been selected as a convener for the BSM physics working group in the Update European Particle Physics Strategy.
