Biography

Rebecca Amati holds a PhD in Health Communication from the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and has five years of postdoctoral experience at the Institute of Public Health, Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at USI. She is involved with the Global Burden Disease Collaborator Network and serves as a Project Manager for various initiatives, including CoPeC, which focuses on building care pathways for dementia. Additionally, she leads a project called Corona Immunitas Ticino and is a science communicator for the Science Minute YouTube series in Italian, under the Swiss School of Public Health. With a double Master’s degree in Communication and Management in Health from USI and Business Administration from Virginia Tech, she also completed her Bachelor’s in Communication Sciences at the Catholic University of Milan, which included an Erasmus exchange in Madrid, Spain. Her professional journey began with international experience as a high school student in Seguin, Texas. She previously worked in Quality Communication Departments at Clinica Luganese Moncucco and collaborated on research at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland. Her research interests span public health, health communication, caregiver support, and community-based participatory research, along with actively developing curricula and teaching at Master's and PhD levels.
