Dr. Rebecca Brienza

Biography

Rebecca Brienza, MD, MPH, is a Professor of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in General Internal Medicine. She has earned her MD from Michigan State University and holds an MPH and a BA in Medical Sociology from the University of Michigan/Ann Arbor. Dr. Brienza is the Director of the VACHS Center of Excellence in Primary Care Education at VA Connecticut Healthcare System, where she has been actively involved since 2013 in various committees and workgroups aimed at enhancing primary care education. Her research focuses on improving patient care through interprofessional education and collaborative practice, contributing significantly to the field of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Brienza has received multiple awards for her contributions to medical education and research, including the Education Research Poster Award from Yale University in 2018 and other honors recognizing her efforts in interprofessional education. She participates in various advisory boards and professional organizations, enhancing the quality of primary care and interprofessional collaboration in healthcare settings.
