Biography

Rebecca Douglas is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Queen's University. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from McGill University and a PhD from Dalhousie University. Dr. Douglas is a registered Clinical Forensic Psychologist working at Forensic Mental Health Services, Providence Care. Her primary clinical interests involve specialized forensic assessment and intervention for patients with complex presenting problems. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Douglas’s research interests include the study of psychopathology in relation to offending behavior, the subtypes of violence, and the assessment of imminent risk of violence. She is currently involved in leading a project focused on the development and implementation of assessment and communication approaches to manage imminent inpatient aggression. Dr. Douglas also supervises Psychiatry Residents and Clinical Clerks in the context of violence risk assessment, feigning assessment, and cognitive behavioral approaches to intervention. Her role includes training within the PhD Program in Clinical Psychology at Queen's University, contributing substantially to the education of the next generation of psychologists.
