Biography

Rebecca Eynon holds a joint academic position at the Oxford Internet Institute (OII) and the Department of Education at the University of Oxford. Her research explores the relationships between education and the Internet, focusing on inequalities. Within the Department of Education, she convenes the Critical Digital Education Research Group. Eynon's work has received support from various funders, including the British Academy, Economic and Social Research Council, European Commission, and Google. She served as co-editor for the journal Learning, Media and Technology from 2011 to 2021 and is currently a member of the editorial board for Learning, Media and Technology and Information Learning Sciences. Rebecca leads the project titled "Equity Focused Approaches to EdTech," which includes nine funded projects as part of the ESRC Education Programme. She is also an international investigator for the ARC Centre for the Digital Child. In her teaching role, Rebecca instructs students in the MSc Education (Digital Social Change) program and supervises DPhil students with interests in digital education and social justice.
