Dr. Rebecca Faugno

Biography

Rebecca Faugno is a Senior Lecturer at the UWA Law School, where she teaches Corporations Law and Professional Ethical Practice. Her academic journey includes extensive teaching experience covering Equity, Trusts, Remedies, and Legal Practice Transactions. Rebecca holds Bachelor degrees in Law (Honours) and Arts (Honours) from Monash University, along with a Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Western Australia. Her research interests focus on corporate culture, corporate fraud, corporate accountability, corporate governance, and corporate responsibility, with specific attention to civil remedies. Currently, she is conducting doctoral research on corporate culture, concentrating on insights from civil penalties jurisprudence, notably recent findings from the Crown Casino Royal Commissions. Prior to her academic career, Rebecca practiced in commercial law, providing advice on corporate matters, including directors' duties, corporate restructures, and mergers and acquisitions. She has also contributed to various legal capacities including as a Barrister and Solicitor in Victoria and Western Australia. Rebecca's commitment to the field is reflected in her previous roles, including JD Director at the UWA Law School. She has participated in multiple conferences and workshops, continuously engaging with the broader academic community.
