Rebecca Genoe is a professor in the Therapeutic Recreation program at the University of Regina. Her research interests focus on the areas of aging and leisure, with the goal of exploring leisure's role in life transitions. She is particularly interested in understanding the role of leisure in the lives of older individuals living with dementia and chronic illness, as well as the transition into retirement and Therapeutic Recreation in long-term care settings. As a qualitative researcher, she adopts a constructivist lens to investigate the experiences and perspectives of older adults. Her research has received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation. In addition to her research, Rebecca teaches undergraduate courses within the Therapeutic Recreation major and graduate research methods. She is actively involved in the Therapeutic Recreation profession in Saskatchewan and values making connections with practitioners in the field. Outside of her professional interests, Rebecca enjoys snowshoeing and reading fiction.
