Dr. Rebecca Gibson

Biography

Rebecca Gibson is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at the University of California, Davis. Her healthcare career began in 2002 when she worked as a certified nursing assistant. In 2016, Gibson gained experience in hospital internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, which sparked her passion for education and research. She has served in various community settings, particularly in underserved areas, with a focus on cardiology as a physician assistant. At UC Davis, she continues to pursue her dedication to education and research, specifically in training and mentoring future generations of physician assistants in evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care. Additionally, Gibson has volunteered in local and international underserved communities, including work with Feed Starving Children in Mesa, Arizona, and on mission trips to Haiti. She has presented lectures on general cardiology topics at institutions such as Chico State and Butte College. Gibson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Arcadia University followed by a Master of Medical Science as a physician assistant, and has published work in the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Journal of Hospital Medicine.
